Description
This family contains 15 genus and 140 species. They are widely distributed in the forests of Southernand Northern hemispheres. They grow fast and up to 20 m tall. Opaque dark green lamina leaves are arranged in opposite each other along the stems. They tolerate pruning and air pollution. They grow in pyramidal forms. They are widely used for hedging besides as wind barriers in parks and gardens
