Description
Phoenix is native to Canary Islands. This genus contains 17 palm species with pinnate long leaves. It is very dense and it reaches to 20 m height with its wide crown. The leaves are produced on the upper part of the trunk while leaflets are thick with vicious spines. The leaves are dark green however the color turns to orange on the lower parts. It likes sunny habitats. Trunk pattern is impressive. They are xused as solitary or as groups along water sources and ways.
