Description
Mahonia is genus of about 70 species, native to California. Mahonia leaves are pinnate with serrated margins. They are red when young, later turn to dark green. Mahonia is an evergreen shrub, branching vertically, growing to 50-150 cm, having reddish or brown trunk color when gets older. In humid soil, they can be grown up to -5°C in cold regions besides mild and temperate regions. The flowers are yellow, and the fruits are blue-black. They like sun and partial shades.
