Description
Salix is a genus of deciduous, or rarely evergreen, woody plant, growing up to 15 m. The buds covered by a single scale are generally under the twig. Old trunks have grizzly barks vertically grooved. The twigs are yellowish green and glossy. Small, acicular, greenish red and bare scaled buds are arranged spirally on the twigs.
