Description
They are widely distributed to Western Europe and East Asia. They are deciduous species that can grow up to 15-20 m. Their branches grow vertically. The 2-12 cm long leaves are simple in some species and large and ovate in some others. Bark has no grooves and is smooth. White flowers bloom in April. Some species blossom pink flowers. They like temperate climates. Green leaves in spring turn to orange in autumn before defoliation.
