Description
Generally, they are tall forest trees growing up to 35 m. Its appearance varies depending on its growing environment. When grown in the forest, they are fastigiated and with narrow-topped, however they are huge and have long branches when grown solitary. The twigs are pinnate venation. At first they grow slow, later at normal rate. They are dedicious trees. The bark is brown and smooth. The flowers are white or yellow. Fagus can be pruned and is resistant to high precipitation and severe winters, however vulnerable to spring frost.
