Description
It is distributed to temperate climate regions of northern hemisphere. They may grow up to 15- 20 m height. The leaves are simple, with serrated margins. The bark is generally thin, smooth and grayish, and keeps itself smooth for ages. Some species are cultivated for ornamental purpose and preferred due to their resistance against aridity. They like sun, and are planted in bundles or as family tree in the parks and gardens.
